Gil Singing and Playing Guitar

Gil Edwards was born and raised in Medford, Oregon. While playing in Seattle he met some Norwegian Musicians which led to him coming to Norway to try his luck. Now he has worked and toured in Norway since 1983.

In 1981 after first arriving in Scandinavia he got hired on as Marius Muller´s bass guitarist. After a while, he traveled back home to Seattle returning in about 1983. he was offered a job in the house band at Sardines on of Oslo, Norway's hot spots.

in this capacity, he met and played with the cream of Norwegian music world. Then the homesick blues took him back to seattle and Oregon for a few years.

Upon returning he tried his luck on the acoustic guitar. began as a traveling Trubador all over Norway, Sweden, and Denmark.

He has always been a songwriter, and it wasn´t long before he found some partners to write with. He teamed up with Sigbjørn Holmslet and Thorvald Remø In 1997, and in 1999 he released his first album, ¨Can't Give it Up¨which went on to sell about 10,000 copies in Norway and 3000 in Denmark. A decent start for a good old boy from Oregon. Later in 2004 he recorded his second album ¨Mayday Situation¨ in cooperation with Sigbjørn Holmslet selling only 3000 copies he took a break for a while.

But now the break is over!

He has been chosen as an ambassador for Indian Motorcycles in Norway and Sweden. This is a great opportunity for a man who has always had a love for all things on two wheels (with an American V Twin Engine).

¨I started working more and more as a songwriter because I felt the need to make music that I felt good with. There has been, over the last few years a  searching emptiness that has come over the music scene. It seems that more and more artists are created or designed if you will. That is not what art and in particular music is all about. In the time I spent as a solo act I have found that there are a lot of people out there that are still interested in real music I mean the kind of music that comes from the soul and the heart, That's the kind of music I grew up on and that's the kind of music I want to make for my listeners

While remaining true to his traditional roots, Gil Edwards pushes the boundaries with uncompromising lyrics and gritty guitar sound. Gil´s ability to capture elusive feelings and experiences in his songs has always set him apart as an artist. His gravely emotive voice against sweeter warmer vocal harmonies gives his songs a subtle kind of power.
